Multispan, Inc. is a privately held fast-growing biotech company located in the San Francisco Bay area. We focus on developing and commercializing drug discovery technology platforms for G-Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs), the most important class of drug targets. We are seeking a Business Development Manager with successful track record in the drug discovery research market. He/She must possess strong entrepreneurial spirit, goal oriented, and enjoy thriving in a fast-paced dynamic start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and be responsible and accountable for delivering revenue goals for key accounts.
- Involved in the development of marketing material and sales collateral, and attend relevant tradeshow and conferences.
- Identifying business opportunities, making technical presentations to the customers and closing deals.
- Working with scientific staff on successful execution of customer projects and building long-term relationships with clients.
- Identifying and building relationships with collaborators and thought-leaders in the filed.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Big-picture oriented while having a strong sense of priorities in execution details.
- B.S. in Biology with at least 4 years of previous business development experience in the drug-discovery market.
- An advanced degree in life sciences or business desired.
A proven track record of sales success and project management experience highly desired.

Research Assistant
Multispan, Inc. is a biotech company located in the San Francisco Bay area, developing
and commercializing biological and therapeutic agents against a major class of
drug targets, GPCRs. We are currently seeking two Research Associates who are
interested in pursuing a career in a fast-growing environment, with laboratory
experience in molecular and cell biology, hybridoma development and bioassays.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform transient transfection assays, and generate and maintain stable
mammalian cell lines for expressing recombinant proteins.
2. Characterize cell lines for the expression of recombinant proteins by FACS,
ELISA, WB and IHC.
3. Perform cell-based and biochemical assays for detecting receptor signaling.
4. Perform animal-immunization and hybridoma-production procedures.
Requirements:
1. BS degree in the biological sciences with 1-3 years experience or MS in the
biological sciences with 1 year experience (industrial experience preferred).
2. Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture (including transfection and
cell cloning) and the ability to manage large numbers of independent cell lines
is required.
3. Experience with basic protein analysis techniques (immuno-precipitation, Western-blotting, ELISA).
4. Familiar with molecular biology technique such as DNA cloning and vector construction.
5. Experience with FACS analysis and/or other cell based assays is an advantage,
but not necessary.
6. Experience with hybridoma technology is a plus.
7. The candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform in
a teamwork setting, and willing to adjust to a fast changing environment.

Scientist
Multispan, Inc. is a privately-held fast-growing biotech company located in the San Francisco Bay area. We are currently seeking a scientist with extensive laboratory experience in cell-based assay development and in-depth knowledge of GPCR research, and who is interested in pursuing a career in a dynamic start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and perform cell-based assays for GPCR drug screening.
- Work closely with the business development team on managing collaborations with pharmaceutical companies.
Requirements:
- An ideal candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences and at least two years experience in GPCR research, preferably in industry setting.
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must have hands-on experience in GPCR assay development. Experience in GPCR target validation and high-throughput screening is a plus.
- Must be familiar with both modern mammalian cell-culture techniques including transfection, single-cell cloning and FACS analysis, and basic protein techniques such as immuno-precipitation, western-blot, and membrane protein preparation. The ability to manage a large number of independent cell lines is required. Experience with monoclonal antibody generation is a plus.
- The candidate should be goal-oriented, organized, able to succeed in an interactive teamwork setting and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment.
